A few reviews and Bendis’ raping of Doom and The Avengers
March 29, 2008Today, we review Iron Man 27, Daredevil 106, Captain America 36, Iron Fist 13, New Avengers 39, Mighty Avengers 11, and Amazing Spider-Man 554. I wish I could review more, but I’m poor. And I can’t afford as many comics as I wish I could. Hear that i.ph? I’m poor! And I review comics for j00. Let’s put two and two together, people.
In this edition, we will see how Brian Michael Bendis hates Dr. Doom, The Avengers and all those who used to like his dialouge and characterization of his other books. Yes, me and two other guys.
More Skrully Action and Trivia!
There’s a new animated trailer for Marvel’s 2008 event- Secret Invasion. Watch it right on Marvel.com! Click here to watch.
It’s a great trailer. It has the two successful discovered infiltrations, the failed infiltration (one of the characters who is slowly become a favorite of mine) and Nick Frickin’ Fury. It has all the locations that have been compromised, too. Check it out. Click the link.
And now, for a little trivia!
New Iron Man Pictures!
March 28, 2008Who’s excited for Iron Man? Okay, scratch that. Who the fuck isn’t excited for Iron Man?! Yes, Iron Man rules the yard of movie hype, and has been ruling for quite some time now. They’ve come out with what? Four trailers? Here’s my favorite so far:
Right, now after watching that, I’m pretty damn sure I’m not the only one with a boner here. I get geek shakes every time I watch that. I have mini happy siezures in my brain every time they release new content, even though they’re already released so much that all you need is Windows Movie Maker and two more clips to re-make the entire movie.
Here are a few new pictures of Iron Monger- (warning: border rape)
Captain America Preview and Predictions
March 27, 2008Captain America has got to be the hottest book in Marvel’s repertoire today. Cap 36 hit the shelves a few weeks ago and people are still buzzing about what the hell just happened. Based on people opinions, Comicology has got its own guesses.
Comicology went around the Intarwebs in search for a logical guess as to what happened in the last Captain America issue. Needless to say, this post might have a few spoilers. If you haven’t read Captain America 36 yet, you may want to divert your eyes. Remember, what has been seen cannot be unseen, and this is especially true for goatse.
Nowhere MAN from Hugh JackMAN
March 26, 2008X-Men movie franchise’s Wolverine, Mr. Hugh Jackman, along with Virgin Comics and Hollywood writer Marc "I Killed Bart Allen" Guggenheim, is set to create a comic book series, Nowhere Man.
Marc Guggenheim is a veteran TV writer, with The Practice, Law & Order, and CSI: Miami under his belt. Right now, he’s a Marvel Comics writer, being a member of the slowly-turning-abysmal Amazing Spider-Man team. He’s also going to be writing Young X-Men come April. Though he’s still writing for comics, he’s also writing for TV still, working on a show with Greg Berlanti on Eli Stone.
Without Fear
March 24, 2008Ed Brubaker’s "Without Fear" was concluded in Daredevil 105, and it has been a doozy of a ride for the man without fear. "Without Fear" started after the forgettable "To The Devil, His Due" arc, which was after the brilliant "The Devil Takes a Ride" whose roots could be traced all the way to Bendis’ arc, sending Matt to jail.
In Ed Brubaker’s initial run in Daredevil, "The Devil in Cell Block D" I thought it was spectacular. Each issue was amazing, action-filled and necessary yet mysterious enough to hold my attention. The whole arc could be read issue by issue each month, and it was a very fulfilling experience. One could also read the arc in TPB form and it would be even better, because of the fluidity of it all.
More X-News! And Pornface exposed!
March 19, 2008A new creative team explodes with ASSKICKERY on Uncanny X-Men come Uncanny X-Men 500. It promises to be one hell of an event. Matt "The Order" Fraction joins Ed "I Killed Captain America" Brubaker on the writing team, and two new artists jump into the thick of things- Greg "Pornface’ Land and Terry "Draws Fantastic Boobs" Dodson.
Fugly X-men Costume Redesigns and X-News
March 18, 2008Joss "Astonishing" Whedon and John "Mutant Skillz" Cassaday’s run on Astonishing X-men has been incredible, to say the least. It turned my brain into pudding with its sheer AWESOMENESS and ASSKICKERY. I don’t think I enjoyed any X-men run as much as I did with theirs. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. However, with Whedon and Cassady, their end comes not with a whisper, but with a bang- a bang of AWESOME- with Giant Sized Astonishing X-men.
Come June, the team of Warren "Extremis" Ellis and Simone "Shaddupa Your Face" Bianchi will be taking over Astonishing X-Men in Second Stage. If there’s a team that can live up to the former team’s legendary run (THE LEGEND OF AWESOME), it might be Warren "Thunderbolts" Ellis and Simone "This Guy Should Be Paid More" Bianchi.
The Incredible Hulk and Green Lantern Movie Details
March 17, 2008There’s a pitch for Green Lantern live action film. Greg Berlanti, the creative genius behind Dirty Sexy Money, Brothers and Sisters, and Eli Stone, is currently penning a script for a live-action Green Lantern flick. Admittedly, I have not seen any of those shows and I have no clue who Greg Berlanti is, but he is a self confessed comic book geek, and that’s good enough for me.
Who do you trust?
March 16, 2008For months now, Marvel has sown the seeds of deceit and paranoia about Skrulls, particularly the ones posing as humans, mutants or heroes. And for months, Marvel dropped hints to obviously mislead the general public as to who really is a Skrull. But here at Comicology, we are wise to their trickery! We shall not fall for their falsehood, as they sit on their thrones of lies!!!

There are a lot of powerful people in the Marvel Universe, and a lot of them could potentially be Skrulls. If by reading this, you think I’m wrong, then you, sir, are probably a fucking Skrull. Because that’s how Skrulls think. But if it’s not you, then who? Who’s left to protect us from the imminent invasion? Who do you trust?

Batman to Die?!
March 14, 2008Grant Morrison has been known to have gone crazy a few years ago, but he’s really gone off the deep end this time.
Batman 676
On sale come April 30, Batman R.I.P. has sent dozens of rumours rippling through the Internet, creating a buzz worthy of such what promises to be a monumental event. Will it top Superman’s death? Probably not, but still, it’s something to keep an eye on.
Comicology’s Incredible Hulk (the movie) News and Unwanted Opinions
March 13, 2008As most of you probably kow, this is being directed by Louis Leterrier. He’s the guy who brought us The Transporter, The Transporter 2 and Danny The Dog, which was released here as Unleashed. What do those three films have in common? Tons of action- tons and tons of over-the-top, ridiculous action. Those movies even gave guys who suspend belief to a point where they can explain why Batman always wins a moment of "what the fuck was that?"
Are we hoping to see a lot of that? Yes. Yes, we are. What disappointed a lot of people in Ang Lee’s take on Emo!Hulk was the lack of over-the-top DESTRUCTION.
I kinda liked the look on Ang Lee’s Hulk. But the new Hulk looks absolutely brutal and hulk-like, and it is magnificent. But then again, I didn’t see it all that clearly. Let’s just hope that they improve on the already fantastic Hulk from 2003.

Incredible Hulk Trailer Is Out!
After the new Hulk project was announced, everyone was abuzz with rumors about it. Then the buzz kinda died down, with a few shards of news leaking out here and there. We learned who was gonna play Bruce Banner, and fanboys and fangirls all over the world rejoiced. We found out there was going to be a cameo of a certain Golden Avengers, and we’re all stoked for that. And now, the trailer is out.
Started out when MTV was given a snippet of the trailer, a few seconds long. And now, bask in the glory of the Incredible Hulk
Marvel’s Secret Invasion Trailer
March 11, 2008Marvel’s upcoming major event, The Secret Invasion, has been sowing its seeds for quite some time now. Ever since Illuminati #1, even before Civil War, events and actions have all been coming together and connecting to expose an invasion of epic proportions.
Brian Michael Bendis’ creation, The Secret Invastion-

2007’s Ion 12 Messed Me Up
March 10, 2008Goddamn it! Ion 12 reduced me to a crying tub of lard! What the hell is up with that? And why did I find it necessary to write about it? Well, lemme tell you- this is exactly what I want from my comics. This is what makes something epic.
We all know that comics have evolved past the point of guy in tights winning over the hearts and mind of people by beating up the other guy in tights, who just so happens to be evil. The standard for good comics keeps rising, and that’s wonderful for the industry; and in turn, it benefits the fans. Good comics these days are a fine mix of fluid story-telling, creativity, wonderful art and how well each element blends together.
Such is Ion 12-
*SPOILER ALERT (if you haven’t read Ion 12 yet)*
TagCom 2 Cosplay Pictures, yo!
March 9, 2008As promised, our perversion for costumed girls (and guys, if you swing that way) shall receive its fix for tonight. For tonight, the cosplay gods smile upon us as:
Last week, I attended TagCom 2, an animé convention at Gateway, Cubao. It sucked my wallet dryer than my sex life (I don’t think the comic addiction helps). What really made the event a smashing success was the Cosplay. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take pics of everyone since there were tons of them, so I’d like to share with you some of my favorites.
Bucky!Cap? Yay or Nay?
March 7, 2008So it’s been a couple months since the new Cap has been introduced. And really, who didn’t know this wasn’t coming? We all had our wishes and guesses for the next Cap was gonna be. From the ones I talked to, it ranged from Tony Stark to Clint Barton to John Walker to MVP. No matter how much you hoped against hope that it wouldn’t be Bucky, you always knew it was coming.
Hasbro Marvel Legends Wave 4
March 5, 2008This particular wave was supposed to come out this month. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your stand on the whole thing), Hasbro wasn’t satisfied with how their Astonishing Beat came out, so they’re delaying the whole line to a mid-april release.
The build-a-figure is Nemesis, also known as Holocaust. He’s the son of Apocalypse and he played a vital role in the alternate timeline of Age of Apocalypse. A little bit of trivia I picked up from his wki page- apparently, his name was changed to Nemesis after pressure from Jewish groups. Definitely, it’s offensive to have a big molten radioactive guy named Holocaust because clearly, Hitler had two body guards that looked exactly like that.
The figures from the line are as follows:
Black Bolt (Blackagar Boltagon)- Leader of inhumans.
Now, the sculpt looks really nice, and the texturing looks very realistic. I doubt that the actual figure would look anything like the prototype, but if it’s anything like this, it’s something to look forward to. I like this wing things, they seem to be made out of cloth. And see, he’s even doing that "Live long and prosper" thing. Well, he does live on the moon.
The Gathering: The 2nd TagCom Convention
March 2, 2008
The TagCom Convention was extremely fun, but drained my wallet. I have Php 500 to live on until next payday. Ugh, Marvel Legends. The event was great, though. Those guys are super-geeks, and I’m nowhere near in their league of geeky; a fact that seriously puts me to shame.
