X-Men movie franchise’s Wolverine, Mr. Hugh Jackman, along with Virgin Comics and Hollywood writer Marc "I Killed Bart Allen" Guggenheim, is set to create a comic book series, Nowhere Man.

Marc Guggenheim is a veteran TV writer, with The Practice, Law & Order, and CSI: Miami under his belt. Right now, he’s a Marvel Comics writer, being a member of the slowly-turning-abysmal Amazing Spider-Man team. He’s also going to be writing Young X-Men come April. Though he’s still writing for comics, he’s also writing for TV still, working on a show with Greg Berlanti on Eli Stone.

Virgin Comics is a publisher that produces comics for an international audience, mostly Indian in nature. It was started by that guy who owns Virgin Records and Virgin everything else, Sir Richard Branson, along with a few Indian dudes. According to their wiki page, they started out as Gotham Entertainment Group, and when the rich crazy guy came on board, they became Virgin Comics and Animaton.

Under Virgin Comics, Nicolas Cage and his son also released their comic whose name escapes me at the moment. Voodoo Child, I think?

Anyway, the story for Nowhere man is being kept under lock and key for now, but it was revealed that it’ll be set in the future, where people have traded in their privacy for security and safety. Ooh, how original.

Hugh Jackman said that he had so much fun being involved in graphic novels because of his X-Men movies, he wanted to be more involved. I read also that he wants this thing to hit the big screen. Well, with his connections, that’s not such a dumb idea. Jackman’s production team, Seed Productions, is teaming up with Virgin to bring it to the movies and other forms of media, along with the mission to probably put it on every lunch box you’d see for the next twenty years or so.

They’ve gotten a lot of talent and people working on this project, so they’re expcting big things from it. But while all that hasn’t happened yet, I’m witholding judgement. So far, with what I’ve seen of Guggenheim’s writing, I can’t say I’m terribly excited. I mean, if freaking killing Bart was the best he’s got, then we’ve probably still yet to see his masterpiece. Who knows, right? This might be it. Maybe he needs the dreamy Hugh Jackman to pull it off.
