Marvel Legends Two-Pack New Releases!

With the news that Hasbro Marvel Legends Wave 4 line-up has been cancelled by the manufacturer, Hasbro did a 180 and introduced their new two-packs to appease their rioting fans. Well, maybe just me, but still, I wanted that red DD figure.

With me, this close to renouncing my faith in Hasbro, they suddenly opened up a pandora’s box of Marvel action figure goodness by showing them off at the New York Comic Con 08. The figures they showed are amazing pieces of plastic, indeed. Adding to the Ronin/Elektra and Ult. Cap/ Ult. Nick Fury line-up are three more 2-packs. They said that they’d have a total of eight two-packs to be released this Fall. Three of them have yet to be revealed.

They’ll be releasing SHIELD Agent/ Hand Soldier (which is a Ronin repaint), Wolverine/ Forge, Skrull/Kree. It seems that the SHIELD Agent may come in many variants, as you’ll see in the pictures later. Most figures have multiple accessories, hands and heads. That makes for good play and display. Though I’ll need a box for my extra parts.

The SHIELD agents share the same body and uniform. The only differences are the heads, so maybe these are just interchangable heads. Their armaments all seem to be different, though, so maybe they come with tons of weapons. This is for those guys who love amassing armies since it comes with the Hand Ninja.

The Hand Ninja is a Ronin repaint, obviously. It looks quite spiffy. Looks like this figure comes with tons of weapons, too. If you collect lots of these guys, you can have a SHIELD vs Hand war diorama.

A good Forge figure. Looks like I’m picking this one up, although it comes with a Wolverine that looks like he just got out of the shower. The only reason, though, is because I had a Forge action figure back in the 90s, the same one that came out with the X-Men animated series. For nostalgia, I’d probably get Mr. Forge here.

Here’s the Wolverine figure. It’s hideous, I know. If I do pick Forge up, I’ll sell the ugly-ass Wolvie to someone. Forge and Wolvie both come with alternative heads and hands. I’m just too lazy to post them, but they’re nice accessories.

Here’s the Skrull. Does it look like the Super Skrull? Sorta, right? Except that his flames are blue and that they are on the same side as the Thing hand.

Here’s the Kree soldier. Nothing special about this guy; at least, not to me. That looks like Cyclops’ body, with double jointed knees and elbows.

I guess Hasbro loved the success the Hydra soldiers got that they decided they wanted to milk more off those army builder types. Ah, well, at least that means they’ll make a lot. Really excited for the Ronin/Elektra one!

According to a friend, that costume is from the 90s, during Jim Lee’s time. It’s the jumpsuit costume.

That friend I was talking about is almost always right, so you can take his word for it.

Yup, it’s definitely the 90’s jumpsuit, my friend. Would have been cooler if they chose a different head sculpt or mold altogether.

Hey, isn’t Wolverine’s costume based on the one in the first animated series? I used to watch that in grade school.

The sculpts look good, but these are displays, of course.
