Digital Media: The Death of Printed Comics?
February 28, 2009Earlier today, I was reading an article on Newsarama about how the Kindle from Amazon, or digital media in general, might kill off comic books in print. The article sparked a nice discussion, more of an organized argument, really, about whether going digital really is the future. I also found this nice blog article (I will link once I find it again) that I could relate to and what inspired me to write this post.

We really won’t see the big jump while Kindle is still the device of choice for most e-book readers, because Kindle II can’t display images. E-Ink (whatever that is) is still black and white. However, since the iTouch and iPhone already have comic book reader applications, it isn’t too far fetched to think that a comic book sized, fully colored reader could be available soon, and not just for comics, but for all other media as well.

The enemy.
