SDCC Toy News Made Me Wet My Shorts

I’m currently writing this in a fidgety state. I am so fucking excited about the news pouring out of the San Diego Comic Con that I can barely contain myself. I literally feel as if my nuts are on the brink of bursting. News will be coming out of every orifice the Internet has to offer, so I’m not going to say this is news. I’m merely sharing with you guys my excitement, for I can barely contain it. I am so excited that, ever since I decided to stop smoking, this is the most congested my chest has felt.

Although I am equally excited for both the Marvel Legends and the Marvel Universe line, I can’t help but feel slightly discouraged by the amount of money they’ll be charging for these beauties.

Hasbro pushed through with one of their promises, finally. The Marvel Legends line is NOT dead. I repeat, it is NOT dead. It will cost you your fucking soul and your future, but it is not dead. Out of all the figures there, these are the ones I will most likely get; if I can find them, that is. Toy collecting has gotten to a point that just looking for the merchandise is extremely frustrating and stressful. I really hate it when fellow toy collectors go “Happy hunting!” No, just fuck no. It’s only happy after I beat a hoarder’s face in with a shoe.

We have a new Deadpool, a new (and greatly improved) Black Widow and The Hood. I’m still on the fence about The Hood, actually as I’m currently selling my Villains set. I could get Havok though, but he’d be out of place.

Marvel’s poster boy and mass and kiddie appeal character will have quite a presence in the 3.75″ market. I’m quite relieved that I do not want to collect any of these. The link to the images is here, again from Marvelousnews.

If ever I do get figures from this wave, it’d likely just be these two guys. The new MU scale Venom and the Spider-Man with a sleeker body and ball jointed hips. I’m pretty happy with my Toybiz Superhero Showdown Spider-Man so this is unlikely.

The Secret Wars two-packs are shaping up to be a fan favorite. I may not be able to resist a lot of these myself. It’s either I make more money or I start selling off body parts. Here’s the link from Marvelousnews.

These two packs, I’m not entirely sure if they’re exclusives. If they are, though, that’s going to be total bitch. I’m finding it easier to resist character who aren’t in their current costumes because I’m a current costume whore. Just thinking about the money these guys will take from me makes me kinda nauseated. Ugh.

I want the Captain America for the 616 costume. I want Hawkeye because, well, he’s fucking Hawkeye. I might hold out until they release a current costume Hawkeye, though, the one they have Bullseye in. That’d rule.

Along with the Secret Wars series, they announced the Gigantic Battles series a few months ago. These guys look like reused Icons bodies. I have no problem with that. They’re Wal*Mart exclusives so acquiring them here in our part of the world might prove to be difficult and taxing, both legally and physically. In all honestly though, FUCK exclusives. FUCK THEM IN THE ASS VIOLENTLY AND WITHOUT CONSENT! Goddamn it. Link is here.

I don’t even want the 12″ ones. I do not want Goliath, I do not want Skrull!Goliath. I want that Iron Man for my 3.75″ armory and that Captain America because that Bucky just rules. Who wants to split with me?

Thankfully, the single carded figures have not been neglected. Unfortunately though, the characters announced for the following waves aren’t anywhere on my radar. They have guys like Thor, Vision House of M Spider-Man and even the 90s Jean Grey. Link is here.

 They also have X-Force Warpath, which seems to be very popular because he’ll be getting Marvel Legends treatment. For a Cyclops fan, it’s weird for me to hate two things- 90’s costumes and Jean Grey. But I do. I hate 90’s costumes and I hate Jean Grey. Emma Frost all the way, Cyke. I’ll probably not be getting any of these figures, so yay, monies!

There are a whole lot of Iron Man MU toys, but I’m keeping that for the next post that I’ll write in a few hours, because there’s so much news and I believe it deserves a post of its own. Let’s keep the SDCC spirit alive, motherfuckers!
