SDCC Iron Man News (I am now screaming like a little girl)

SDCC is like Christmas come early for me. Difference is, the only people we give gifts to are Marvel and Hasbro. Know what I’ve really been excited for? Iron Man 2. I was curious as to what scale the figures would come out in. I was speculating we’d see 3.75 inchers because of the Wolvie movie and all.

And the barrage of news made me more eager to do three things:

1. Watch the movie
2. Get an Xbox 360
3. Beef up my 3.75″ Iron Man Armory

The action figures for the movie are amazing and they’ll make great additions to my current 3.75″ armory. Had I been able to start the 6″ armory, I would be continuing that until today. Unfortunately, I was left behind so I picked up this scale instead, and it seems like I made the right decision.

I am making an executive decision- I will collect them all. Well, except for the Iron Monger and Dynamo ones. I will build a magnificent Iron Man armory in 3.75″ scale. I will start saving money now. I’m not even close to kidding. I already put away enough for 2 figures. And seeing as they’re coming at in 2010, I’ll have enough to get entire case assortments. BWAHAHHAHAHA!!!

Just looking at them gives me goosebumps. They look much thicker now as compared to the MU Wave 1 Iron Man. The previous MU Iron Man figures look like they couldn’t house anyone inside them. Or if they did, they’d be really stick thin- like impoverished country thin. These bad boys have the bulk to look formidable. Like tanks. OF AWESOME.

On to some movie news — remember when I posted the concept art for the Mark IV? Yeah, the actual armor is out. Here’s a comparision with the Mark III.

You can easily spot the differences. Mark III’s got that silver collar bone attachment, and Mark IV’s doesn’t have it. The IV’s arms look like Iron Man’s pre-extremis armor. I can list down the differences, but I’m sure you don’t need me to. Here’s my take on it, though. I like the old one better. It was bulkier, it looks more powerful. The one on the right looks like R2D2’s blind date. It doesn’t look very dangerous at all. Let’s hope it looks better on the big screen.

I’ve been hearing news about a Mark V armor. It is rumored to be the one with the diamond chestplate. Until I see proof, I call shenanigans.

For the video game that accompanies the movie news, the only thing I have is that the trailer is out.

Oh, and MATT FRACTION wrote/will write it. *geekgasm*

The Wolverine movie game was one of the best Wolverine titles I have ever played. I am hoping this follows suit and blows me away. *crosses fingers for SEGA*

Oh, and this just in:

Hasbro, you must really fucking hate me. Why? Because you’ll be taking all my money next year.

My problem with that figure is that it existence ensures that there will be no single carded, non-exclusive 616 Captain America for sale. Well, we have the SDCC exclusive 616 Cap, but it’s in fucking gray scale. We also have the Invaders set, but that’s not exactly single carded. We had an Ultimate Cap though, single carded non-exclusive.
