Anime Iron Man and Anime Wolverine
July 27, 2009People who know me know that I’m not the biggest anime fan. I hate how they spend 80% of the time fucking explaining how they’re going to kill each other, and 10% of the time with that huge fucking sweat drop. When the action does finally start, it is fucking epic. The only anime that I have ever really fully went geek for was Avatar: The Last Airbender and purist motherfuckers say it’s not even real anime because it’s American-produced.
Over the San Diego Comic Con weekend, Marvel announced their animation projects, and the ones that I felt I had to outright ignore were the anime ones. However, this morning, as I was going through my Plurk, I saw their trailers. Ade Magnaye was kind enough to post the trailers. Hmm.
The Iron Man anime seems to be quite interesting. Although there are no clips of him outside the armor, we can only hope he isn’t some nubile girly man motherfucker with a high pitched voice and girly demeanor. Unfortunately, I am almost 100% sure that this is the route they’ll have Tony take.
The action sequences in the trailer are almost unbelievably slick and would give any Iron Man fan a boner, and not of the homoerotic kind that Japanese love so much. He does, however, go up against this effeminate pirate looking man who doesn’t seem to have an MU counterpart. Dr. GayDoom? Probably. Crimson Gaynamo? Less likely seeing that he’s not red. Titanium Fag? Meh, we’ll have to see.
I was informed that Warren Ellis has a hand in the writing of this series. If it ruins your childhood memories and turns your children into raging homos, you know who to blame.
Wolverine: anime seems to deviate so far from the original mythos, I can almost say this is NOT Wolverine at fucken’ all. Wolverine is a Canadian hard ass, not a Canadian who is hard for (man) ass. The man in that video is not Logan. It isn’t even Laura, as Laura has more testosterone in her small frame than that limp wristed doucher. I think some people mistook Vega (Balrog in Japan) for Wolverine.

Watch out for these shows come 2010, if you’re into that whole anime thing. I might check out Iron Man, and if it stays close to the original mythos, then I’ll give it a shot. Wolverine, on the other hand, I will deny that it ever existed.

There is hope for humanity! I hope they don’t change Stark up too much. Make him younger looking? Okay. Give him long hair? Okay. That’s pushing it though.
