Pixar-Marvel Ant Man? Could it be?
September 6, 2009All this craziness between Disney and Marvel and all the speculations has really put a bad taste in my mouth. I, for one, am optimistically skeptical. I am very uneasy about the deal, but I don’t want to jump to any conclusions. I am hoping for the best, where Disney feeds Marvel money for a better marketing reach and higher returns but keeps their grubby paws away. However, should there be a Jonas Brothers meets The New Avengers comic book, I will embrace Dark Horse and DC and IDW and try to forget Marvel ever existed.

It also doesn’t help that the Disney-Marvel deal has a $140 million termination fee. This means that if the deal doesn’t push through, Marvel has to pony up $140 million smackers to Disney. I know they got the money, but are they liquid enough to do this? Maybe, but Marvel has already said they have no intentions of backing out of the deal. The House of Mouse and the House of Ideas are going through with this marriage.
However, today, I read the first good news that this merger has sired.
