I caught wind of the prototype Iron Man 2 concept series action figures over at Marvelousnews. I have to say they are magnificent. I’m sure the hoarders and the collectors are going to jump right on these and make the search for the best figs a race. Prices are going to skyrocket.

I’m going to share some with you, but if you wanna see all the pics, click here. I merely ganked these images from Marvelousnews, that awesome website.

All figures come with armor cards (whatever the hell those are), stands and glowy pieces of plastic that will serve as your effects. I seriously hope they don’t raise the price past P550.00. I will be very cross if they do.

Classic Iron Man. This is a must-have for me. Looks cooler without the gigantic red middle finger, too. This’ll sell like hotcakes, but it is far from what’ll be most sought after.

This is the Deep Dive Armor. This seriously looks like one of Dr. Wily’s creations. No one is going to buy this and this will stink up the shelves for months. I’ll get one, though.

The Hypervelocity Armor, which looks nothing like the Hypervelocity armor in the comics. They probably thought Bloody Shit-Colored Repaint Armor wouldn’t sell well with the comic book fans.

Remember how people went gaga over the Mark I in the 6″ line? People are going to do the same goddamn thing here, which means acquiring these little beauties is going to be a major bitch. Fuck you, hoarders. Fuck you in advance. Fuck you hard.

I want this so bad, it hurts my long lost foreskin. This is supposed to be the original armor from Tales of Suspense #38, although it looks more like the updated Adi Granov design. NO, HOARDERS! NO! This won’t be the most sought-after figure, though, for sure.

Know how these guys went almost as fast as the Mark I? Yeah, collectors are going to be all over this one, too, especially if they’re this shiny. I want one, too, and if the other shit wasn’t as good as they are, it would rank up higher in my MUST-GET-OR-I-START-BITING-CHILDREN list.

This monstrosity is actually the Mark III armor. It has some sort of shirt on, for one reason or another. It looks infinitely prettier without that crap, though. Want one, too.

The Power Assault Armor doesn’t look like much at first glance. But then, it kinda grows on you, like fungi. Doesn’t look half bad, but expect it to stay on the shelves for a while.

Now THIS is going to sell so fast, it’ll piss me off to no end. Even with the gigantic yellow dildo, a lot of people are huge fans of the stealth armor. The old one sold really quick, and that was inaccurate on so many levels. How much would people bend over backwards for this thing, now that it’s comic accurate and its 6″ counterpart is the most expensive Iron Man Marvel Legend figure? I have to be swift like a ninja.

I’m calling it now, the War Machine fig will be a close second to the stealth armor in terms of frustration levels of acquiring. I can already feel the aneurysm. DO NOT HOARD, YOU MOTHERLESS FUCKS! DO NOT HOARD!

Here is one of his baddies, the Crimson Dynamo. He looks so much better without that gay purple shit coming out of his eyes.

The Iron Monger is going to look puny, I bet. The 6″ Iron Monger is a good scale compared to the 3.75″ Iron Man figures, I think.

i like the one in the tales of suspense thing simple and classic too bad though it has crazy shapped amber dildo on it’s left hand like the one which reminds me of the member of the “blueman group”

…well i could buy and keep the action figure and give away dido-like thing

Personally, if I can get my hands on a Mark III and I I will be happy. (That Mark III is SO much frigging nicer than the ones that came out for the original movie.)

Oh humbug. I was so busy drooling over the pictures it went totally over my head that they were just prototypes. Sigh.

Still, I do hope they’re better than the original movie figures. I love the design of the movie’s Mark III, but when I went to pick up a figure, I was so disappointed–the paint job was just awful–completely untidy. Looked like a little kid had painted out of the lines in a coloring book. Maybe it was just a bad batch or something, but I don’t want to risk an online order based on what I saw in person in the only place I could actually find the things on the shelf.

(Btw, unrelated note, but when are these supposed to hit stores?)

The old 6″ figures really were quite bad. Mark II was probably the best figure in that line. I still have my Mark III and I haven’t opened it up. My hopes are high for the Mark V armor.

And the 3.75″ Iron Man figs should hit stores before March, 2010.

This is really going to suck.

With the number of figures in this wave and knowing how hard if is to get ANY Ironman toy these days, it’s going to be a BITCH to hunt these down, especially in Ortigas.

Hoping that either 1) Hasbro and TK decides to launch the toys and have a 1 per customer rule or 2) one of the specialty shops sells them as a set.

Hell, let’s hope TK decides to sell the thing as a set. That way you can just do it all in one fell swoop, and at SRP.
